Class Four Outbreak ( CFO )

Fighting my first zombie at Sarah's house wasnt the best experience of my life. It wasnt easy either. The stench was overpowering. I was lucky my brain managed to do everything that i trained if i was to fight a zombie.

When we were inside the school, we were relieved. At least now we know we CAN actually survive this. Even if the chances are slim. The school was very helpful to us. It didnt even provide us shelter, it even provided us comfort.

But, i guess i should've thought about the fact somebody else may be in the school...

Inside the school....

Jack and the rest are in the canteen. The school's entrance has been barricaded heavily. Most of the windows are sealed with paper to avoid zombies from seeing anyone.

Jack: Damn...they're not going away..
Adam: Way to go Captain Obvious.
Jack: Alright, we need to continue with the plan.
Rico: What's the use man...we're already gonna die.
Jack: Wow, Rico. You're actually the strongest in the team and that's what you have to say?
Rico: Dude...i'm tired all right? Can i at least relax for a while?
Jack: Fine. But we sleep in shifts. Rico, Reina, Sarah, Fizz. You all go to sleep first. We'll wake you up when it's our shift.
Fizz: Zzzzz....zzzz
Rico: Yeah well, aint no use saying that to Fizz. He's out.
Jack: Yeah. Go to sleep Rico.
Rico: Night Jack.
Jack: Night.. ( Goes to the control box and pulls a plug. Half of the canteen lights turned off leaving the area near the kitchen lit.)

Jack sits near the table and opens his bag. He takes out a map and his book containing the plans. He takes out more paper and starts drawing a plan. Adam sits near Jack on another table whilst reading a book titled " Mechanicals and Technology: Basics and Advance How-To's. "

Melody who was up goes to have a chat with Adam.

Melody: Hey.
Adam: Hi.
Melody: Thanks for saving me back there.
Adam: It was nothing. Besides, i didnt even think i did anything except hold the zombies back.
Melody: Yeah, well at least you helped.
Adam: Thanks. You actually made me feel better about myself.
Melody: What do you mean?
Adam: Nothing. I just thought, maybe, i'm no good in this team. I mean, i'm just the brains. Not the brawns.
Jack: Dude, we never thought of you like that. Ever. We all know you're smarter than us. But never we thought you were useless.
Adam: .....
Jack: Now, excuse me while i finish this plan.
Melody: Hey, you ok?
Adam: Yeah. I'm fine.
Melody: ( These guys care about each other huh? So lucky..)

Angel fell asleep. Jack didnt mind though. He knew that she was tired. Jack saw her fear when he saw her came out of that basement.Sarah was watching from the distance. The rest were asleep, she was the only one who wasnt.

Sarah:....Good Night Jack...( goes to sleep)

5 hours later.

Rico and the rest turns for their shift. Rico, being a pro in the kitchen, made coffee for the gang.
Sarah looks at the plan which Jack left on the table. The rest then started to group at the table and looked at it.

Rico: Wow. I never knew he could do all of this.
Fizz: Yeah, he always sleeps in class and he sucks in Geography.
Rico: Not to mention the time he day dreams.
Sarah: Seriously?
Rico: Yeah. The teacher's were really mad at him. But the teachers kept pushing him cause they believed he had potential.
Fizz: Looks like they were right. He mapped every route from here to China! And that's a thousand miles away!
Rico: But why China? If there's zombies, there's gonna be in China and India.
Fizz: We'll ask him in the morning.
Reina: Hey, when did you met Jack?
Rico: Met Jack? Hmmm..i think it was in the 3rd grade. I just got into a fight with his friend and he comes rushing and scolds me. Good thing i didnt punch him though.
Fizz: And i met Jack at the 4th grade. Through Rico, of course.
Reina: Wow..

A few hours later...

Sarah and Reina are in the kitchen cooking something while Fizz and Rico are discussing about the routes and the plan which Jack has made.

Rico: Dang, looks like we really do need a car!
Fizz: Yeah, where can we find that?
Rico: ( gets up and looks outside ) It's not impossible, but it's risky. We dont even know if there's fuel or if it's still operational..
Fizz: True..But where are we gonna get a car?! Is there some secret place that Jack isnt telling us?
Rico: We'll ask him later.
Jack: Ask me what?
Rico: Where are we gonna get a car?

Jack opens the school's garage lights and shows a car in repair. There's a lot of tools in here.

Jack: This'll do. I know where to get the fuel.
Rico: Dude! How do you know all this stuff!
Jack: Research. Now, grab every thing. We have to start repairing this car.
Adam: That'll be easy.
Sarah: Can we help?
Jack: Yeah. You good with cars?
Sarah: Not really...

Adam: Alright. Everything's done.
Jack: I learned a lot about cars today.
Fizz: Suspension, suspension...
Rico: Grease! GREASE!!!
Adam: Right. How are you girls holding up?
Sarah: Bolt 1 goes here, Nut X goes there.
Adam: Ya....

Back at the canteen...

Jack comes in with a bag. Looks pretty heavy too...

Rico: What's in the bag?
Jack: Weapons. ( throws the bag and homemade weapons comes out) Homemade weapons.
Fizz: Uh, no guns?
Jack: And let every zombie know where we are? No, right now the closest thing we have is a nail gun.
Adam: What else?
Jack: That's it.
Adam: What about air-powered guns or something?
Jack:... There's a tank of gas in the shop. But, we dont have anything to shoot with..
Angel: What about this? ( shows a small sack of marbles in her hands)
Jack: Where'd you get this?
Angel: I was walking along the Lost and Found when i saw a box of marbles.
Jack: How many were there?
Angel: The box says 5000.
Jack: No, how many boxes were there?
Angel: I dont know i didnt check!
Jack: ...Fizz, go with Angel and get those boxes.
Fizz: Why me?
Jack: Coz you're the most laidback here since everything started. I'm kinda surprised actually.
Fizz: Fine...
Jack: Wait. ( Takes a baseball bat and shoots the top with the nail gun) Here, use this.
Fizz: Thanks.

Angel and Fizz walks down to the Lost and Found.

Angel: Hey, what do you like to do?
Fizz: Me? I dont know. Playing games i guess.
Angel: Oh.
Fizz: You?
Angel: I guess, playing the violin.
Fizz: Cool you play violin!?
Angel: It's not something to brag about..
Fizz: No, it is. I actually saw you played once.
Angel: ...What?
Fizz: Yeah, now i remember. You played so well.. i was actually kind of jealous coz i cant play the violin. But, you're different back then.
Angel: How different?
Fizz: Right now, you're kinda scared or something. Last time i remembered you were kinda cheerful. Even though you're quiet.
Angel: Well, sorry for being quiet!
Fizz: And, there's that cheerfulness again!
Angel: ....
Fizz: Dont change okay?

Fizz and Angel made it to the Lost And Found.

Fizz: Okay, let's get these boxes back. ( puts them in a trolley)
Angel: You want me to push?
Fizz: I thought you never asked! Onwards!
Angel: Humph!
Fizz: Girls. You never get tired of them. Hmm? ( Hears a cracking sound from behind..) What the hell?!

At that moment, Jack and the rest heard a scream. Jack took his nail gun and ran towards the Lost And Found faster than any track record he'd ever set. When he got there, Fizz was fighting a zombie. And more was getting in.

Jack: Fizz! You alright?!
Fizz: ( Shoves zombie to the ground and pounds it with the bat) Now i am!
Jack: Quick! Grab that bench! We gotta barricade this window!

Jack fires a few nails to the zombies that were trying to get in. He and Fizz lifted the bench and started barricading. But behind their backs, another zombie was trying to attack. Fizz had developed a "Sixth Sense " after playing too many games. He can always predict what is someone going to do next.

Without hesitation, Fizz lifts up the bat and swings it into the zombie's face. The zombie got a direct hit. Fizz let go of the bat and it still stuck to the zombie's head. Finally it falls down and dies. Jack finally manages to use the Nail gun and sticks the bench and other stuff into the window and stop the zombies from entering...

Jack: Goddamit...you okay?
Fizz: Give me a Sneakers will ya?
Jack: Ha..haha...haha...haaaa man....that was close..
Fizz: ( Notices Angel sitting in the corner) Hey, you okay?
Angel: Are they finally gone?
Fizz: Just the one infront of you. (points to the zombie with the bat in the face.)
Angel: AHH!!( Quickly hugs Fizz)
Fizz: Wow, you're pretty warm.
Angel: !!( Gets up and quickly tries to hide the fact that she's blushing) Co..come on. We gotta send this to the car.
Jack: Right. Let's go. ( Exits the room with Angel.)
Fizz: That was nice...

Fizz gets up and pulls the bat from the zombie's face. The zombie looked dead at first but when Fizz was at the door, the zombie showed sign of life when it started to moan again.

Fizz: Hey, sleep in peace.

Fizz swings his bat onto the shelf causing it to collapse. One of the bowling balls on top of the shelf fell and hit the zombie straight in the head. Instant death.

I've been planning to do this for a while actually. I am a zombie addict. If not, i wouldnt join the NG Zombie Survival Crew! So here, i bring you a zombie story based on all the knowledge i have gathered from the Crew. It's not much since it's a little slow but things are starting to speed up now!

Class Four Oubreak.

In the book The Zombie Survival Guide, Max Brooks explained they were three stages of zombie outbreaks.

Class 1 is the lowest. The zombies here are usually 1 - 50 in number in a very small community.
Class 2 is medium. The zombies here are from 1- 200 in number and occurs in a well populated area.
Class 3 is the highest. Zombies at this level are usually on a level where cities are taken over.

However, there is one class that has hasnt been explained with detail.

Class 4 is a world-scale outbreak. Every continent of the world now has a zombie regardless of it's number. The human population at that time will probably be 40% to 5% of what it is today.

This class however, isnt really explained since it is thought to be almost impossible too happen and if it did, nothing can ever make a difference.

When i first heard about the zombie outbreak in the news, i was shocked. My parents, thought it was a joke. Most of my friends were doubting. And a lot of people, was not even caring.

2 weeks later, the government put the whole country in a state of emergency. We had to follow curfews. And military trucks and army personnel where everywhere.

At 7.30, we had to go into our houses. At night, the streets will be lit up with spotlights. Soldiers would usually patrol the area in groups. And sometimes, teenagers will be caught sneaking out.

It was fun at first i guess. That is until, the zombies started popping up. Soon, every night was filled with the sound of gun shots and screams. At that time, we were all scared.

The bodies were disposed far away so there wont be any panic, but that didnt do much help. School was soon cancelled. And curfew was moved from 7 to 5.

I knew that it will be only be a matter of time before they get through. I decided to take action.

Chapter 1

The school canteen. Jack, Fizz, Rico and Adam are enjoying their lunch. Jack however, is writing something in a book.

Rico: Dude, it's lunch. Eat!
Jack: Later, i'm doing something.
Rico: What are you doing anyway? Math?
Jack: ....You heard the news right? About zombies and all that?
Adam: Yeah, we all did. So?
Jack: You noticed that there's more troops than there normally should be?
Fizz: Yeah...i thought it was weird.
Jack: I think, something big is about to happen. And i dont mean a concert thing or something.
Rico: So, what should we do?
Jack: Look here. I have.....(Jack explains the plan)

On the far side of the canteen, Sarah, Melody, Angel and Reina are also discussing something.

Melody: Hey, dont you think Adam's cute?
Angel: Really? I always thought Fizz was better!
Sarah: We're on a brink of zombie destruction and you two can still talk about boys?
Angel: Zombies arent real. Duh.
Sarah: Yeah, but if that were the case, soldiers wont be here would they?
Angel: They're just here for something else..
Sarah: Right..Reina, what do you think?
Reina: Rico....
Sarah: Great...(sinks head to the table)

Back to the guys, Jack is intently explaining a plan.

Jack: Okay? Gather everything, and stay there. In case this does happen, dont go out for 3 days. After that, we'll meet at the usual place.
Adam: You sure that's safe?
Jack: We know that place better than anyone. The school would probably be infested with dead soldiers looking at the situation..
Rico: If it's not?
Jack: Then we change course here. At least we now have a Plan B.
Fizz: So, when should we do this?
Jack: After school. We never know when it's gonna happen...

The Mall...

Jack and the rest are pushing their carts buying canned food, water, and tools.

Adam: Explain how are we gonna pay all this?
Jack: I took my dad's credit card before he left.
Rico: Left?
Jack: Right, you werent here were you Rico? When news of a zombie outbreak was to happen, my dad took my brother and my mom somewhere else. He promised he get me after he get there.
Rico: Then?
Jack: The government stopped all air,sea and land transport after the continent was put into State of Emergency. Only cargo was permitted to travel. And a special permit is required if you really have to travel somewhere else..

Rico: ...Sorry man.
Jack: Dont be. At least i know my family's safe. That's one less thing i have to worry about..

As they reach the cashier, they meet a familiar face.

Melody: Adam! Hi!
Adam: Oh hey! What are you guys doing here?
Melody: Just buying some stuff. Wow, you guys are buying a lot of stuff!
Jack: Preparation.
Angel: Preparation? For what?
Jack: When the time comes, we'll come and rescue you.
Cashier: That'll be $800. Would you pay cash or credit?
Jack: Credit. Come on guys. See you all later.

Jack and the rest leaves.

Melody: What did he mean by that?
Angel: I dont know.
Sarah: ....

Back at Jack's house, Jack is in the basement sketching something on a large piece of paper. There's a lot of tools on the table on which he is using. The room was dark. Only a table lamp lit the place. Barely enough though. The doorbell rang. Jack stopped and went upstairs to get the door. It was Sarah.

Sarah: Hello.
Jack: Hey. This is sudden.
Sarah: Yeah sorry about this. Can i come in?
Jack: Sure. ( Lets her in and closes the door.)

Jack: Anything to drink? Coke? Water? Coffee?
Sarah: A cup of tea would be good.
Jack: Ok. You can turn on the TV while you wait.
Sarah: Okay.

Jack goes into the kitchen to make tea. Sarah turns on the TV. And the news was on.

Newscaster: In other news, President of the United States finally announced the truth on what is happening to the world. Zombies. A few months ago, a US Marine reported seeing what he thought to be a group of people in Antartica. When they tried to rescued them, they attacked and his group was forced to fire.

Upon further inspection, they discovered that their bodies had already decayed and it seems that their clothes are not from this time. When they returned back to America, one of them was infected and he was sent to classified location for further inspection.

The scientist then sent a report to the President, saying because of global warming, zombies that were frozen in the ice managed to escape and revive themselves. Hearing this the President...( the TV turned off.)

Jack turned of the TV and brought a tray with two cups and a tea pot filled with, well tea.

Jack: 5 months later after the world's gonna end and then you tell it to the world. Perfect. Here's tea.
Sarah: Thanks..
Jack: (Fills the cup with tea and gives to Sarah) So, whats up?
Sarah: I wanna talk to you about the zombie issue.
Jack: Okay. What do you wanna know?
Sarah: You think all of this is real? I mean zombies. They use to pop up in movies but now real life?
Jack: That's...what i thought too at first. Until i saw the zombie body they were trying to dump.
Sarah: You what?
Jack: I woke up early, and i looked out my window. Clear as day, i could see they're picking up the bodies and putting it in a truck. It was obvious they were gonna dispose of them. Or else it would cause panic.
Sarah:....

Jack: Now, mind if i ask you something?
Sarah: Yeah sure.
Jack: When did you get interested in Zombies?
Sarah: Since 2 months ago. When they changed the curfew hours. And the screams i hear at night.
Jack: Yeah..most people try to ignore them..
Sarah: Are you scared?
Jack: What?
Sarah: Are you scared? If you know, they get through, and eat us and kill everyone?
Jack: My family is far away so i'm not worried. But yeah. I'm pretty scared. I mean, we're talking about zombies here.
Sarah: I know. I'd be pretty scared too.
Jack: Have you made preparations?
Sarah: Huh?
Jack: I take that as a no then..
Sarah: What do you mean preparation?
Jack: You know there's a zombie outbreak and you dont even bother taking precautions?
Sarah: I..never really thought of it...
Jack: ...Come with me.

Jack gets up and goes down to the basement. Sarah follows. Jack opens the light. Sarah was amazed to see what Jack did. The walls of the basement were full of plans,diagrams and tools. The shelves were full of canned food, water and other stuff arranged properly. The windows was boarded with wood and there was only enough view to see what was going on outside.

Sarah: Wow..this is...pretty..amazing.
Jack: You'd never know..anyway, you're gonna need some of this stuff. ( takes a bag and gives her a piece of paper)
Sarah: What's this?
Jack: ( Loading stuff into a bag ) It's a plan. Me and the rest are gonna follow this plan so you probably should too. Here,( gives 3 more ) give them to your friends too.
Sarah: What about...
Jack: Your family can come too. Make sure you read the plan though. ( Gives the bag to her ) That should be enough. You should go home now. It's almost 5.
Sarah: Yeah. Thanks. (Takes the bag and leaves the basement.)

Jack stays at the basement and continued doing his work. 2 weeks later, everything happened just like Jack predicted.

In Jack's Basement..

Jack: Anybody there?( talks into a radio)
Rico: Yeah. I'm here.
Jack: Are you safe?
Rico: Yeah. I cant contact the rest though..
Fizz: Hello? Anybody there?
Rico: Fizz?
Fizz: Oh man! You guys are alive!
Jack: Yeah, we did.
Adam: Is anybody on the line over?
Jack: Yeah, it's us.
Adam: Damn Jack, looks like everything did happen like you predicted.
Jack: Yeah, i just hope the girls are fine.
Rico: I hope everyone's fine.
Jack: Anyway, follow the plan. We go out 3 days later. Only call when in case of an emergency. We dont wanna attract zombies you know.
Rico: Gotcha. I'm out.
Fizz: Over and out.
Adam: May god have mercy on us.
Jack:(Shuts radio.) May he does.

3 hours after the outbreak..Jack gets a call on his radio.

Jack: This is Jack. Who is it?
Sarah: Jack! This is Sarah! We're all the basement right now but we dont know what to do!
Jack: Wowowo! What do you mean " all "?
Sarah: Reina,Angel and Melody are with me right now! We're in the basement and we're completely helpless!
Jack: Is there a zombie there?
Sarah: No, but we can see zombies outside..
Jack: Dont panic. If you panic, you'll attract more zombies. Now, i want you to close every electric application in your house that you're not using. Bring the supplies to the basement. But be discreet.
Sarah: Okay, i'll call you when i'm done.

5 hours after the outbreak...Jack fell asleep with a baseball bat beside him. Then, the radio made a sound.

Sarah: Jack. Hello? Answer me!
Jack: ( Picks up radio and answers) Yeah, i'm here.
Sarah: Jack, we finished doing what you said and we barricaded the door as a safety precaution.
Jack: Good. Is there anything down there you can use as a weapon?
Sarah: There's a lot of golf clubs down here.
Jack: Not perfect but it'll do. I want you to give the golf clubs to everyone. Make sure they have at least 3.
Sarah: Why?
Jack: Trust me, the shaft wont hold on. It's too weak. Anyway, try to hold on for another 2 days. Okay?
Sarah: Okay.
Jack: Call me if there's anything. ( turns radio off)

2 days and 20 hours later. 6 am.

Jack finally opens the door of his basement. Holding a what used to be a broom, Jack walks upstairs with his homemade spear made by tying some knives at the tip. Jack opened the curtains of his window.

Jack: Shit. I didnt expect this...

Outside, they were a lot of zombie limping around. They were eating animal corpses but at they were also searching for human flesh. Jack saw a few people running away in a truck before getting overrun by the zombies..

Jack: Fuck...at least let this part of the plan work! Alright...think...think! ( lightbulb ) Got it!

Jack ran back downstairs and took a piece of rotting meat from the refrigerator. It was rotting after power went out. Jack ran up to the second floor and looked around. He saw the zombies started to smell the scent of the meat. Jack took of his shirt and put the meat inside and threw it like a sling along with the shirt. The zombies automatically diverted their attention to meat that was thrown away.

Jack went back inside and went into the basement and quickly wore the clothes that were on the shelf that had a sign that said " Emergency Gear " . Jack took his bag that was already full with supplies and took a nail gun and his homemade spear. He ran upstairs and checked one more time to see if the zombies were really gone. Just then...

Rico: Jack, you there over?
Jack: I'm here. You guys okay?
Fizz: Roger.
Adam: Just a bit heavy carrying this bag.
Jack: How many did you bring man?
Adam: Just like you asked.
Jack: Fine, a few books could help. Anyway, get ready to run. Listen, scout the school first. If it's infested, go to the usual place okay?
Rico: What's going on? You're not coming?
Jack: I will, after i rescue the girls.
Fizz: What?! You told us..
Jack: Dude, i know! But i know what i'm doing. Just follow the plan if anything goes wrong okay?
Rico: Dont die on us okay?
Jack: I'm the one that's supposed to be saying that...I'm worried you wont make it.
Adam: Yeah, let the main character die.
Jack: Haha, very funny. Okay, let's go. Over and Out.

Jack opens the door slowly and looks around to see for any signs of movement. Nothing was there. Only corpses. Without hesitating, Jack ran through the street and heads for Sarah's house..

Sarah's house..

Jack enters the house and turns on his radio.

Jack: Sarah, this is Jack. Are you there?
Sarah: Jack! Where are you?
Jack: I'm inside your house.
Sarah: What?! Get out of there! There zombies everywhere!
Jack: No, i pulled their attention away.
Sarah: No...there's a zombie in the house...
Jack: You're kidding.
Sarah: Jack...get out.

Hearing those last word, Jack turned around and saw the most horrifying thing he has ever saw. A zombie. Up close too. The zombie quickly grabbed Jack by the neck and tried to bite him. Jack saw what was coming and did what he has trained to do for the last few months. Survive.

Using his self-defense technique that he had learned from his Tae Kwon Do master, Jack broke the zombie's arm and threw him to the ground. Quickly he grabbed his spear and pierced the zombie's skull. The zombie wasnt dead though. It was still moving. Jack pushed the spear deeper until the spear broke leaving the knives in the zombie's head. Annoyed, Jack used stepped on the side of the broken spear causing it's head to turn to the side. Without any hesitation or any signs of fear, Jack stomped on the zombie's head. It finally died.

Jack: That wasnt nice. Alright, i taken care of the zombie.
Sarah: Are you sure it's dead?
Jack: (Lifts up his foot) Positive.
Sarah: Alright, i'm coming out.

Sarah exits the basement followed by the rest. Melody, Angel and Reina. They looked like they've been in hell. Cant blame them. Death changes everything. Even life itself.

Jack: You okay?
Sarah: ( hugs Jack) Sob...Sob..
Jack: ( Crap, i'm bad at this stuff..) Hey, come on. We gotta go. Crying wont help right now..
Sarah: Yeah..(wipes tears)
Jack: Quick, get your stuff. We're getting out of here. All of you, get ready. this isnt gonna be easy..

9 am.
Destination: School
Distance: 300 meters
Team Status: Stressed

Jack and the girls are running towards the school. Jack is running in a military manner holding a nail gun that has been extended it's grip for more accuracy. Every second, his eyes and his aim changes.

Jack: Sarah, tell the guys we're on our way to the school!
Sarah: Ok. ( Turns on Radio ) Um, guys, we're on our way to the school!
Rico: Yeah, well you better hurry, we're gonna close the gate soon!
Jack: What's wrong!?
Rico: Zombies are trying to pass the barricades! We dont have much time!
Jack: Alright! Our ETA is 2 minutes!
Rico: Make it one! Alright guys let's beat this guys to kingdom come!

Jack: Alright. We seriously gotta go!

Finally they arrive at the school..

Jack fires his nail gun at the zombie hordes that's blocking the way. One by one they start to fall down and die. After an opening is made, Rico and Adam climbs the barricade and hits the zombies with a baseball bat.

Rico: Come on!
Adam: Die bastards! ( Stomps a zombie head )

The girls manage to get into the school. Jack shoots some more and then enter the school. They close the gate....

Jack: Shit.....that was fucking close!
Rico: Yeah...but we really gotta be careful next time! Or else!
Adam: God i cant wait to go to the city..
Jack: Yeah... me too....

End of Chapter 1.

I didnt get it. They wanted Romance and not action or fiction.

I hate my society who thinks love is something good.

Its not. It's blind. Thats why people say love is blind. Not because it doesnt matter age, it's because it doesnt know whats good or bad. It'll strike anyone in any and every form.
